Arti Sharma is Sr. Assistant Professor & Head, Department of Sociology and also Incharge, Centre for Women’s Studies at IIS (deemed to be University). Jaipur. She holds a Ph.D. degree in Sociology. She is a Team Member in RISHII Project (Resources for Internationalization of Higher Education Institutions in India) sponsored by University of Deusto, Spain. She was a Co- Investigator, in UGC Minor Research Project titled, "Globalization and women in Informal Sector (A study of Socio-economic status of Women working in Traditional small scale industries in Urban Jaipur city) and Principal Investigator in the University sanctioned project titled, “Education and Learning society (A study of changing life patterns of families of economically backward girl child availing free education in English medium schools). She has supervised student projects related to ageing and juvenile delinquency. 02 Ph.D. have been awarded under her supervision. She has been Co-ordinator of Association of Commonwealth Universities sponsored Two Day Workshop on Leadership and Management Skills for Women in Higher Education, Organizing Secretary of two ICSSR sponsored National Seminars on Women Entrepreneurship, Employment and Empowerment: Sustainable Pathways to Egalitarian Society and Women Empowerment and Inclusive Growth. She received the Award for Excellence in Academic and Institutional Work from The IIS University, Jaipur. She has authored one book and is the co-editor of three books. She has published a number of research papers in national and international journals on topics related to gender inequality and educational sociology
