Himanshu Pandya is a student at heart and an administrator by accident. His area of interest lies in the history of literature, cultural studies and pedagogy. For his doctoral pursuits, he is re-examining the idea of renaissance in Hindi literature, covering the period of late 19th and earlier 20th century. He has three books to his credit, which include an edited book on children’s literature and two compilations of stories by Swayam Prakash and Dr.Alam Shah Khan. There are two books in the pipeline, one on pedagogy and another on political poetry by Nand Bharadwaj. Further, he has contributed as a member of the textbook committee of National Council for Educational Research and Training (NCERT), New Delhi. He has been teaching Hindi literature since 1998. Most of his teaching years have been spent in areas with a majority Adivasi population. Presently, he is posted in the Government College based in Raniwara where nearly one-fourth of the population comes from Dalit communities.
